Heaven is a 2002 film directed by Tom Tykwer and starring Cate Blanchett and Giovanni Ribisi.
Cate Blanchett plays Philippa Paccard, a woman who, tired of being ignored by the authorities, decides to take justice into her own hands after discovering who is responsible for her husband’s death.
Philippa repeatedly filed reports, but was ignored. Therefore, she decides to plant a bomb in the building where the man responsible for her husband’s death is located.
This person is apparently involved in much more serious crimes and is being protected by the local Italian police. In her attempt to achieve justice, Philippa’s plan ends up affecting an innocent family, and she is arrested.
After being arrested, she meets Filippo (Giovanni Ribisi), who falls in love with her and decides to help her escape after realizing the corruption within the police department.
