The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is a film based on the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel The Lord of the Rings. It is the sequel to The Fellowship of the Ring and precedes the final installment of the series, The Return of the King.
Cate Blanchett reprised her role as Galadriel, under the direction of New Zealand director Peter Jackson, who also co-wrote the screenplay with his wife, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens.
Regarding her role as Galadriel, Cate has said that she accepted the part more because it was directed by Peter Jackson than because of the role itself, and that she even asked to return for Jackson’s next film, The Hobbit.
