In Berlin at the end of World War II, journalist Jake Geismar (George Clooney) investigates the case of his former lover, Lena Brandt (Cate Blanchett). Her husband has disappeared and is wanted by both the United States and the USSR.
Berlin, 1945. The war has ended in Europe but continues in the Pacific. The Potsdam Conference, which will decide the future of the world, is on the eve of the conflict; the police are in the midst of a manhunt for Nazi war criminals.
