Based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s bestselling novel, The Hobbit follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), who joins an epic quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain, long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug.
Accompanied by the wizard Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen), Bilbo joins thirteen dwarves, led by the legendary warrior Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will pit them against great challenges, including orcs, giant spiders, shapeshifters, and sorcerers.
Although their goal lies in the East and the distant lands of the Lonely Mountain, they must first escape the mysterious tunnels, where Bilbo will encounter a creature who will change his life forever: Gollum.
